August 2019 saw a number of MX Endurance athletes come together for a fantastic weekend of training and racing in Ottawa, Canada.
MX athletes from all over the world including Mexico, Australia, Norway, USA and Canada met in the capital of Canada for the Super League Triathlon Ottawa race.
MX Endurance camps provide our members with an opportunity to meet the people that they get to know through our online community. The camps are always a combination of quality training and good times.
This event had a focus on technical skills and saw our members spend lots of time in Gatineau Park riding and swimming. A technical open water swim session was held focusing on the skills of open water swimming and provided insights for both the beginner and advanced triathletes.
With the Super League race fast approaching a run technique session was also run by our MX Coaching staff focusing on proper running form and the importance of posture. This session was also followed up by a transition demonstration by Canadian Professional Triathlete, Jessey The Elf.
The weekend of racing was fun with a combination of individual and relay teams participating across the multiple Super League race formats. MX Endurance was extremely well represented with the X standing out amongst the competitors. There were podiums, PBs and first times for our members.
As with all of our MX Endurance camps the biggest take away is the time spent with like minded athletes and the ability to learn from one another. We had top age group athletes to complete beginners with one member participating in their first ever multi-sport event.
Apart from the technical training the group got to see the best of what Ottawa has to offer with dinners and drinks in some of Ottawa’s most iconic locations like the Market or many breakfasts at the famous Elgin Street Diner.
Cindy from Georgia USA had this to say, “Camp is priceless!!! The instruction by Tim in open water and running technique was something I needed. The laughter and friendships I will always treasure. I have great memories that make me smile. One of the priceless things I gained was confidence. I can’t wait to do this again”
Jaime from Mexico said, ‘It was an amazing experience, training, racing, getting to know in person team members I haven’t had the opportunity to meet before. And now I personally consider you all my friends! Thank you all for being there and making it such a great experience’.
Gordon from Canada,” I had an amazing time at the MX Ottawa Camp. Meeting up with our virtual members and having an instant connection is what this team is all about. It’s not only triathlon but the camaraderie and the many laughs we had together! Try to make one of these camps it will be worth it!”
Jørn from Norway said, “I had so much fun. The race was super fun, thought i had no training for this. Meeting new and old friends on an event like this, is worth it all! Kisses and hugs from me to all of you. Until next time, train hard.”
